Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani visit to Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Tuesday said that PPP has always rejected deals and back doors and came into power only with the support of the people.
Addressing a big gathering of people at Faisal stadium, he said that the government would complete its tenure and those who are in a hurry to come into power should wait. The Prime Minister also announced a mega uplift package for Muzaffargarh and promised sizable funding for its development in the forthcoming fiscal year.
The PM recalled that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had addressed a big public meeting in Muzaffargarh just two days before her martyrdom and had promised many development initiatives at that time. Her promise of construction of Head Mohammadwala stands fulfilled because the project was under execution these days, he added.
The premier announced to accept all the development promises made by Benazir Bhutto and those made by the representatives of the people in today’s public meeting. He also performed ground breaking of Rs 1.25 billion Sui gas supply scheme that would benefit people from Muzaffargarh to Alipur.
Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani announced to build girls colleges in Shah Jamal and Khangarh, create road link between Shujabad with Khangarh by building bridge and road over river Chenab. He also announced to build a four-lane road from Multan to DG Khan via Muzaffargarh besides Rs 10 million funding for lawyers and journalists colonies in Muzaffargarh.
On demand of the people, the PM directed Wapda to give preference to the local people in making appointments in thermal power station and also announced bonus for thermal power station employees.
He said that free bus service was in operation in Muzaffargarh. It was launched to provide transportation facilities to the poor labourers and peasants free of cost on the recommendations of former MNA Jamshed Ahmad Khan Dasti.
The PM announced to provide another bus to operate under Benazir free bus service. He said that Benazir Bhutto had given the ticket to Jamshed Dasti to contest the last general elections which he had won. He added that later his brother also desired to contest from NA-178 Muzaffargarh constituency in the by-polls but the party decided to award the ticket to a worker i.e Jamshed Ahmad Khan Dasti.
The Premier said that the government was fully aware of the problems like unemployment, poverty, terrorism, loadshedding and all available resources were being utilized to resolve it.  He said that after completion of this term we would again go to the people to ask is there anything left that we have not done in service of the people?
The PM said that people have given the mandate to the government for five years and added that after completion of three remaining years people would see themselves that all major problems stand resolved and country making strides on a path to development and prosperity. He said that the PPP ticket holder Jamshed Ahmad Dasti is a true representative of the poor labourers and the impoverished, and the people should support him in by-elections.
The PM said that DHQ hospital Muzaffargarh was inaugurated by his father 60 years ago and announced to fully upgrade this hospital.
Federal minister for information and broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister for defence production Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan Jatoi, State minister for finance and economic affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, advisor to PM Ghazanfar Gull, senators Malik Salahuddin Dogar and Sughra Imam, MNA Sardar Moazzam Jatoi, MPA Mahr Irshad Siyal and other parliamentarians were also present.

 
Meets PPP Workers
A report from Bahawalpur says;  Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the government is paying attention to the development of deprived areas and steps are being taken to bring them at par with developed areas.
Talking to the office-bearers of Pakistan Peoples Party Bahawalpur and notables at airport on Tuesday afternoon, the Prime Minister said the government would utilize all available resources to provide basic necessities to the people.
He said the role of elected representatives is very vital in this regard. They should point out development projects and monitor them till their completion, he added.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira, Advisor to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Nawabzada Ghazanfar Gul and Senator Sughra Imam were also present on the occasion.
