RAWALPINDI – A local court in Rawalpindi on Monday ordered
the Anti-Corruption Department to arrest real estate tycoon Malik Riaz
Hussain, his son Malik Ali Riaz and seven other accused and produce them
before the court on July 2.

Chaudhry Ameer Muhammad Khan issued these directions while taking up the
case of illegal transfer of 1401 kanals of land near Rawa
t involving
the Bahria Town.
During the proceedings, the Anti-Corruption
Department told the court that they along with Civil Line Police Station
officials, including the area DSP, went to Islamabad for arresting
Malik Riaz and others, but the Islamabad Police did not cooperate and
sent them back.
Meanwhile, the counsel of real estate tycoon tendered an application with the court seeking cancellation of arrest warrants.

however, the special judge observed that the application should be
submitted in the presence of other party on the next date of hearing.
The court had issued arrest warrants for Malik Riaz, Ali Riaz and others in the land scam on Thursday last.
